Supreme court of India: Nine petition which the court will hear today
Chief Justice of India N V Ramana and Justice Surya Kant will be hearing the matter today on the Pegasus case. The supreme court of india has stalled to hear the nine petition today on pegasus snoopgate.
Below are the petition filed in the Supreme Court of India :
Advocate Manohar lal sharma, a PIL has been filed by the advocate to look into the matter. He is the first person to approach to the court to look into the matter seriously as it is against the democracy concerning national security and judicial independence
Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas was the second person to approach the supreme court after Manhohar lal. The MP seeks the supreme court and wants to conduct a special probe for the spyware scandal.
N Ram and Shashi kumar approach the court for the protection of their privacy as it is the violation of their fundamental right mentioned under Article 21.
Editors Guild of India moves Supreme Court seeking SIT probe into Pegasus snoopgate, disclosure of list of persons spied. They are the fourth one to seek justice by the supreme court.
The Two journalists Rupesh Kumar and Ipsa Shatakshi whose name is on the list of the pegasus spyware filed a writ petition stating that the unauthorized use of surveillance by government agencies have violated their fundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution.
Paranjoy Guha Thakurta , SNM Abidi and Prem Shankar Jha also seek similar relief as that of Rupesh Kumar and Ipsa Shatakshi.
The petitioners have alleged that they were subjected to “deeply intrusive surveillance and hacking by the Government of India or some other third party”They have prayed to the supreme court that directions be issued to the Central government to produce and disclose all materials and documents with respect to all investigation, authorisation, and orders prevail to the use of Pegasus on them.
