Syllabus of Judicial Service Examination
For the preparation of preliminary level of judicial service one should generally go through all the basic law and for the main judicial service examination an elaborate and detail study is required for all the subjects. The aptitude test are to asses the candidate logic and reasoning ability. As told earlier In the preliminary examination , various multiple choice question is asked related to law which cover the following subjects Constitutional law. IPC, CPC, CrPC, and The Indian Evidence Act. Contract Law and Tort Law. Transfer of Property law. General Knowledge and Current Affairs Proficiency In English Language and Aptitude is also very important aspect of the judicial service examination
As we all know that different states has different syllabus , some states cover certain other topics in their syllabus as follows:
Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Manipur, and Nagaland: Proficiency and fluency in the official language of Assam- local language.

Syllabus For The Main Examination (Statewise)
Paper I (To test English; 100 marks, 2 hours): Essay, paragraph writing, Grammar
Paper II ( To test General Knowledge; 100 marks,2 hours): Objective test (current affair and GK), Apttitude Test
Paper III (Law; 100marks, 2 hours): Transfer of Property(rights of mortgage and mortgagor), Civil procedure code, Indian Contract Act (a protection of act between two or more parties), Constitution of India( its includes preamble and fundament rights and duties)
Paper IV (Law; 100 marks, 2 hours): IPC( Indian Penal Code), CrPC(criminal procedure code), Law of Torts, Indian Evidence Act
Part I: Compulsory Paper- General knowledge includes current affairs (150 marks), Elementary Science (100marks), General Hindi (100 marks ), General English(100 marks ), Law of evidence and procedure ( 150 marks)
Hindi and English are always the compulsory papers in judiciary exam but only one has to pass which requires only 30 marks out of 100 marks
Part II: Optional paper(150 marks each)- Constitutional Law of India and England(, Hindu and Muslim Law, Transfer of property(transfer of property fron one person to another), Principles of Equity, Law of Trusts and Specific Relief Act, Law of Contract and Torts, Commercial law(related to company law)
Framing of issues and writing of judgment in Civil Cases-civil drafting (40 marks)
Framing of charges and writing of judgment in Criminal Cases- criminal drafting (40marks)
Translation: English to Hindi (10marks), Hindi to English(10marks)
